Solar Power in the Villages

Opposing tidal wives of old and new are everywhere. Many of the homes out here have, in recent years, been equipped with modest solar panels. Some wealthier families can afford to buy them, but most of the panels have been gifted and distributed by big NGOs (one thing they did right).

It's quite paradoxical - this coincidental gap in development in which rural life in the 3rd world, as it crawls towards modernity, will completely skip wired electricity and move from no light at all straight to this very new, eco friendly solar power that even well earning American homeowners have only far off visions of installing on their own roofs.
